Lubricant, Chemical Blending & Tolling
Many of the Delta Companies have the capability to blend liquid products for customers. These products may range from lubricating oils to deicing fluids and chemicals. The Delta Companies offer a wide range of blending capabilities with a total capacity of well over 250 million gallons annually. The blending system can range from in-line mixing to mechanical mixers to Pulse-Air systems to just recirculation. Most systems are custom designed for the application using existing assets to reduce capital cost and increase response time. Typical products that are handled are non-hazardous specialty products that are higher in value but smaller in volume. Blended volumes can range from 1,000 gallons to well over 100,000 gallons, with the capability to blend in trucks and in railcars.
Lubricants are a way of life for all of the Delta Companies. Delta Petroleum Company has been blending products since 1947 and combined with the Delta group of Companies, is one of the largest independent lubricant manufacturers in North America, selling to both the major oil Companies and OEM’s. The Delta Companies blend and compound a full line of quality lubricants and related products for industrial, commercial, military, and consumer use.

Customers may own many of these formulations, but a Delta company can set up a tolling arrangement to blend these products for a customer which may include storage of the base oils and additives. Other customers may purchase the finished oil formulations that one of the Delta Companies already maintain in inventory. These products are not marketed by the Delta Companies but are made available to customers for private branding.
Quality control is critical to all of our Companies and is backed by modern, fully equipped labs that are staffed by experienced chemists. The technicians are trained in running many of the ASTM tests and are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product quality. Many of the Delta Companies are ISO 9002 approved. If you have special requirements, the experienced Delta group will assist you in designing a custom system while maintaining the proprietary nature of the formulas. The key to the success of the Delta Companies over the years has been their ability to maintain confidentiality while also providing a great deal of knowledge and experience to the industry.
Chemical blending is another area that the Delta Companies do well. Many of the chemical products that are produced at their sites are proprietary formulations blended in dedicated systems to eliminate contamination. These formulations can range from a very simple two-component blend to one that may have over 6 or 7 components with special equipment control parameters.
